Noise Masking / Sound Masking
Sleep
Snoring
Baby's Room / Nursery

Guidelines for Most White Noise Uses:

Play your Pure White Noise® at a low comfortable volume.
To play your Pure White Noise® continuously, use the “repeat” feature on your CD or Mp3 player. Most commercial players now have the “repeat” function as a standard feature. Our Pure White Noise® CDs and Mp3s are designed especially to utilize this convenient and useful feature. Use this “repeat” feature and you can enjoy your favorite Pure White Noise® while sleeping all night long!

Noise Masking / Sound Masking:

1. Place both of your speakers between the bothersome noise and your ears with the speakers facing you. Try to separate the speakers away from each other by 3 feet or more if possible.
2. Use just enough volume to mask the noise. Most times a comfortable low volume is best. Always start with the volume turned all the way down and slowly increase the volume to just loud enough to cover or "mask" the bothersome noise.
3. “Turbo Charge” your Pure White Noise®! Use your stereo’s tone control to add bass or treble to your sound as it plays. This brings out more of the sound frequencies already built and embedded in your Pure White Noise® CD or MP3. Some stereos have a “Bass Boost”, “Bass Enhance” or “Super Bass” feature as well as a tone control feature (add or diminish bass and treble). You can use these tone adjustment features to add low end sound frequencies to help cover low sounds like those awful booming car stereos and truck/traffic rumble noise. Use the treble for higher pitched sounds like birds, insects or a loud invasive TV or radio. Experiment a little and you will discover you can turn your Pure White Noise® into the Ultimate Noise Masker!  Click Here For Pure White Noise® Sound and Noise Masking CDs & Mp3s

Sleep:

1. When using a Pure White Noise® CD or MP3 for sleep, keep the volume at a low comfortable level. If necessary, you could play our CDs on a clock radio that has a CD player. But you will get the most benefit from a stereo CD or MP3 player with two separate speakers. If you need to mask noise while you sleep, see “instructions for Noise Masking” above.
2. Each CD and MP3 is designed to gently wind down to silence at the end of the 60 to 74 minute program (depending on the title) transitioning you into a healthy sleep pattern; or you can enjoy your Pure White Noise® all night long by simply by using the “repeat” feature on your player and your CD or MP3 will play over and over again all night long, masking any sounds that could potentially wake you. We recommend “light sleepers” use this “Repeat” feature. Either way you’ll enjoy a restful healthy sleep and awaken refreshed and renewed.
3. Make sure your sleeping environment is dark, cool and comfortable. Hit "Play" and take a couple long slow and deep breathes, and lay still with your eyes closed for about 15 to 20 minutes. Allow your mind and body to align with the Pure White Noise® sound. It won’t be long and you’ll be entering a peaceful restful sleep.  Click Here For Pure White Noise® CD & Mp3 Downloads To Help You Fall To Sleep

Snoring:

1. We highly recommend using headphones or the much more comfortable “ear buds” if the snorer is in the same room with you. Don’t be deceived by other websites that tell you simply playing white noise in the room through your stereo’s speakers will mask snoring. It will not. You must use headphones or ear buds to effectively mask the snoring if the snorer is in the same room with you.
2. If the snorer is in another room and the snoring is coming through the walls or floor, it is appropriate to use a stereo and place the speakers between you and the snoring, with the speakers facing you for effective masking of the snoring.
3. Whether you use ear buds, headphones or speakers, turn the volume high enough to mask the snoring; don't make it too loud.  This would be also good time to use your stereo “bass boost” and/or turn up the bass on your tone control knob to “turbo charge” the special low frequencies we have built into the white noise sound files.  Click Here For Pure White Noise® CD & Mp3 Sounds That Mask Snoring

Baby’s Room / Nursery:

1. If there is noise in other parts of the house that will wake a sleeping baby, place the speakers along the wall where the noise is most likely to come thru.
2. If the child is crying, turn up the volume of the Pure White Noise to the same volume level as the crying (but never loud!). Gradually reduce the volume as the child acknowledges the pure white noise® sound and begins to settle down.  The ultimate goal is a low comfortable volume just loud enough to mask any bothersome noises that could wake the sleeping little one.
3. Always lay the child on its back. Never lay a child on its stomach. Remember “Back To Sleep.” More info here: http://www.sids.org/nprevent.htm.
4. Never use headphones or ear buds on a child under 5 years of age. Always use speakers placed at a safe distance from the child’s reach. Never place a speaker in the crib/bed with the child. It is very easy for a child to entangle themselves in very dangerous speaker wire.
5. Keep all stereos, speakers and wires far away from the reach of little curious hands. Our Pure White Noise® for babies is meant to be used in the baby’s room or a nursery, not in a moving vehicle!! NEVER play Pure White Noise® while driving or operating any type of machine!
